UPDATE 1-Canada applies to join China-backed AIIB, latest U.S. ally to apply

BEIJING, Aug 31 (Reuters) - Canada will apply to join the

China-backed Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the

bank's president Jin Liqun said on Wednesday, making it the

latest ally of the United States to join the new international

development bank.
